Why?!
The day I learned a different language was the day I saw it;
a gun aimed at my father’s head,
simply for having the courage to say no.
In that instant, something within me abandoned its old tongue.
Since then, my words have not traveled in straight lines.
They have hidden themselves inside metaphors, slipping between shadows and meanings, seeking refuge where truth could survive unbroken.
I learned to make each sentence carry the weight of a storm gathering on the horizon; heavy enough to flood the mind, deep enough to awaken forgotten coastlines of the soul.
And so my voice became a contradiction I could never escape:
thunder wrapped in silk, a river strong enough to carve through stone,
yet gentle enough to settle upon a wounded heart, like rain returning to a thirsty earth.
