Because You Were Here!
There once lived a farmer
whose days belonged to the earth.
From dawn until the sun surrendered itself to the horizon,
his hands spoke only the language of toil.
Yet every evening,
before crossing the threshold of his home,
he would linger in silence,
watching the last golden threads of daylight
unravel across the fields.
Always silent,
his gaze would often wander toward the little garden,
where the breeze whispered to leaves
and the fading light kissed the quiet soil.
Then one evening,
his eyes rested upon a flower
he had never seen before.
She seemed too beautiful for the earth that held her.
He wondered whether the wind had carried her from some forgotten paradise,
or whether Heaven itself
had misplaced a fragment of its own beauty.
He did not know how she had arrived.
He only knew she was there.
So he picked up his watering can,
not out of duty,
but out of wonder.
Day after day,
he returned to her.
He poured care upon her roots,
yet what overflowed from the can
was something no well could ever contain.
Love spilled along the path with every step,
seeping into forgotten corners of the garden,
awakening seeds that had long slept beneath the soil.
Soon,
flowers began to bloom everywhere.
The farmer would smile
as he watched the mysterious blossom
standing radiant among them,
never realizing
that while he believed he was nurturing a single flower,
God was cultivating an entire garden.
Such are the quiet mysteries of Heaven.
God sent the flower
to soothe a hard working heart.
He gave the farmer
to make the special flower shine.
And through the devotion of one
and the beauty of the other,
He painted a masterpiece
neither could have created alone.
For this is the way of divine grace:
it is rarely given to stop with one soul.
It overflows,
touching every life that stands nearby,
until an entire garden blossoms.
A Lebanese famous quote that says “كرمال عين تكرم مرج عيون”.
I would change it from now on to " كرمال زهرة تكرم مرج زهور"
