Six Years of Silence
(6:08 PM, 6 seconds, 220+ lives lost.
7,000+ injured. 300,000 displaced)
Six years have passed since the deliberate devastation of the Port of Beirut
an explosion that did not merely shatter concrete and glass,
but tore through homes,
stole innocent lives,
and reduced an already struggling nation to its knees.
The smoke has long faded,
yet the wounds remain.
The shattered streets were rebuilt by grieving hands,
but broken hearts have never truly healed.
Six years,
and justice still stands absent.
Not one criminal has been held accountable.
Not one truth has been allowed to breathe freely.
Only silence,
protected by power,
while the voices of the victims echo unanswered.
A nation cannot heal while truth is buried beneath the same rubble that claimed its people.
Memory refuses to die,
and neither should the pursuit of justice.
Today we remember every life that was taken,
every dream that was stolen,
and every family still waiting for an answer.
Beirut deserves more than remembrance.
It deserves the truth.
It deserves justice.
