Feelings
Silence is a cruel companion,
yet confession is a sacred offering,
one that unfolds only
before a heart
that has learned the grace of listening.
Few understand
what it means to greet life's fiercest storms
with an unbroken smile;
to stand unmoved
while an ocean rages beneath the ribs;
to answer every invitation to weep
with quiet dignity.
For sometimes,
silence is the soul in tears.
When no voice can translate
the language of our wounds,
silence becomes
the last tongue
our hearts remember how to speak.
There are silences
that thunder louder than words,
heard only by those
whose hearts have learned
to feel before they judge.
And there are words within us
that seek no ears to receive them,
but only a soul
gentle enough
to recognize their trembling.
So when we choose silence,
it is not because the pain has faded,
but because we have discovered
that some truths cannot be explained,
and some sorrows
refuse the comfort of language.
Only time,
walking with quiet footsteps,
and the patient hands
of those who remain beside us,
know how to gather
the scattered fragments
of a weary heart,
and teach them,
with infinite tenderness,
how to beat as one once more.
